How can organisms move on land?

Animals that move on land are terrestrial animals. They are distinguished by a huge number of very different modes of movement. It depends both on the animal itself and on what conditions of the world it lives in. Animals can move by running (cats), walking (elephants), sliding, jumping (hares), crawling (snakes). The mode of movement is associated with the structure of the limbs of the animal and vice versa – the living conditions influenced the structure of the limbs of the animal. For example, moose have long legs and wide hooves, which also spread apart when stepped on. Because of this, the elk can walk through the snow or through a swamp, where any other animal would die.
