How can potassium nitrate be obtained from potassium sulfate? Make the reaction equations?
September 6, 2021 | education
| The formula for potassium sulfate is K2SO4, the formula for potassium nitrate is KNO3.
Further, to obtain potassium nitrate, we use a simple exchange reaction, for example, with sodium nitrate:
K2SO4 + 2NaNO3 = Na2SO4 + 2KNO3.
Or calcium nitrate:
K2SO4 + Ca (NO3) 2 = 2KNO3 + CaSO4.
