How can you explain the fact that in ancient Greece performances were staged only during the day?

This is due to the fact that Greek theaters were in the open air. Plus, the lighting was much worse at night. Thus, people gathered in theaters during the day. The Greek theater itself was very different from the modern one. Only men could play here, they conveyed their emotions with the help of masks. Theatrical performances themselves took place only a few times a year.
