Nails are keratinized skin particles derived from it, formed to protect the ends of the phalanx from damage. In fact, nails are a continuation of the skin; these are horny formations in which there are no nerve endings. Blood vessels are found only in the nail bed. The nail plate consists of many layers, each of which has its own characteristics. For example, the top layer is the most durable, since it carries the main protective function, and the bottom layer consists directly of dead skin cells, there are no blood vessels or nerve endings in them. This is also proved by the fact that we do not feel any pain or discomfort when cutting nails or manicure.
