Relations between the peoples of Austria-Hungary influenced the outcome of the revolution. It ended in the defeat of the revolutionary forces. The reason was the different attitude of peoples to the further path of development. Hungary strove for a republican form of government, and Austria suppressed it. As a result, an agreement was concluded between the countries. The revolutions in Europe in 1848-1849 led to the acceleration of the industrial revolution. Hungary achieved the right to self-government. Later, a constitution was introduced in Austria-Hungary, which limited the power of the monarch.
