How could the clergy help to strengthen the power of the Mongol Tatars?

With the establishment of the Mongol-Tatar yoke in Russia, relations between the conquerors and the Russian Orthodox Church began to take shape. The Mongols were tolerant of the religion of the conquered people. The clergy enjoyed a special privilege. The churches are returning the lands they owned before the conquest. Metropolitans send their representatives to the Horde, visit it themselves and receive benefits from the khan. The clergy were exempted from paying tribute to the Horde. Orthodox churches are being built in the capital of the Horde so that Russian delegations can pray there. Even when Islam becomes the state religion in the Horde, the Orthodox Church is not oppressed. In response, the Russian clergy support the khans of the Horde and pray for them. Seeing the influence of the Orthodox Church on the Russian people, the Horde conquerors support the Orthodox priests, do not allow Western Catholicism to penetrate into Russia and, thus, receive military assistance from the Western powers. Therefore, the cooperation between the Horde and the Russian Church was mutually beneficial.
