How did Ferdinand contribute to history?

Franz Ferdinand was the heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne, he was distinguished by a tough attitude towards the dependent Serbian people. In the summer of 1914, he was killed by a Serbian student who was a member of the organization that fought for the freedom of Serbia, Gavrila Princip. History remembered these events, as they became the reason for the outbreak of world war in 1914, which lasted until 1918. For the states that were going to start a war for the division of spheres of influence, this was a welcome reason. As a result of the war, many empires collapsed, and the prerequisites for the Second World War were laid.
