How did primitive people know about cattle breeding?

Primitive people ate mainly fruits found in the area or food caught in the hunt. But over time, there was a transition to a producing type of economy. The reason for this could be the accumulation of food left over after the hunt. Primitive people realized that eating baby animals was ineffective, so they left them directly with them until they grew up. This led to the domestication of some of them and the further development of animal husbandry and crop production.
