The life of the Greeks in the ancient polis can be described as comfortable. Polis was a city-state, which could be ruled by any citizen. There were shrines and temples in the city. In different polis, they worshiped to a greater extent different gods. This was one of the reasons for the reluctance of the Greeks to leave their hometown. Around the policy there were lands that were used for agriculture. In some cities, ownership of land outside the city was compulsory. At that time, artisans and traders had already emerged, which indicates a high level of development of society. All citizens of the city had access to all the benefits of the city.
