How did the Athenians vote differently from the Spartans?

The Spartans had the following voting procedure: there were electors, who were positioned in such a way that they did not see the candidates and voters. When the applicant stepped forward, the electors evaluated the noise level which the applicant was greeted with. Whoever was greeted loudest was chosen. It is interesting to note that the Athenians called this method “childish.”
The Athenians voted by raising their hands upwards, by dropping stones or shards into the vessel. On whose side it turned out to be more, and they chose.
