Also, an important factor that had a very negative effect on the Roman Empire was the resettlement of peoples, in connection with which many barbarian tribes in central and western Europe began to move. The borders of Rome were simply bursting at the seams, huge funds were spent on the construction of fortified fortresses and the retention of soldiers.
