How did the crisis of the Roman Empire manifest itself?

The 4th century was the decline of the greatness of the Roman Empire. The constant political struggle in Rome, hotbeds of uprisings throughout the empire, greatly undermined the authority and power of the once strong state. In 395, the empire split in two. The last straw of the collapse of the Western Roman Empire was the onslaught of the Huns and barbarian tribes of Europe. By the end of the 5th century, Vandals, Goths, Franks, Burgundians, etc. finally tore apart the western empire.
