How did the development of trade affect the life of the Hittites?

Thanks to the emergence and development of trade, the Hittite kingdom began to master new ways of generating income. For example, the mountainous area turned out to be very rich in minerals, which were later sold or exchanged for grain, which the Hittites had little, because of the local climate.
