St. Bartholomew’s Night was a mass murder of the Huguenots. Then on August 24, more than 30 thousand Huguenots were killed. In the capital of France itself, about 2 thousand of them were killed. The events of St. Bartholomew’s Night caused the flight of more than 200 thousand Huguenots from France. They fled to Germany, England and even Poland. The rulers of many countries have condemned such violent acts. Even Tsar Ivan the Terrible expressed his opinion and condemnation for this reason.
