How did the first living organisms eat?

Modern scientists have not come to a consensus on what the first living organisms were: anaerobic or gerotrophs. However, the opinion of scientists is unanimous that the type of metabolism they had was rather anoxic, since free oxygen was then very rare in the earth’s atmosphere. These organisms were fed by various organic compounds arising from exposure to solar radiation, thunderstorms, and the heat of “black smokers” and geysers. These substances were dissolved in the water of the primary ocean.
