How did the life of Soviet people change with the beginning of the Second World War?

Those who remained in the rear had to work in incredibly difficult conditions for 12 hours a day. Penalties for violation of industrial discipline have been steadily increased. A card system was introduced for the main goods. Many people were evacuated from territories that could be captured by a German. There was a shortage of almost everything, including fuel, housing, and basic necessities. Serious changes have taken place in the spiritual state of people, the government has suspended the persecution of the Orthodox Church.
