The reign of Alexander Nevsky falls on one of the most difficult periods in the history of Russia. In the 13th century, Russia was weakened by the Mongol bulk. In addition, at the same time, another enemy appeared in Russia – the Western states. In this connection, Alexander Nevsky had to make great efforts in order to repel the onslaught of the enemies of Russia. So in the Nevsky battle and in the battle on Lake Peipsi, he was able to show his talents as a commander, and, thus, bring victory to the Russians over the enemy.
