How did the natural conditions of Ancient Greece differ from the natural conditions of the countries of the Ancient East?

They differed at least due to the fact that the lands in Ancient Greece were much less fertile than in the East. Agriculture in the last place required special systems for irrigation, dams and canals, while in Greece it was necessary to make terraces and grow some olives or grapes, because little grew, although they had a Mediterranean climate. Also, Greece did not have its normal rivers, while in the East, the element of civilization was just the river network.
