After the end of hostilities in 1945, the influence of the USSR increased significantly. In the postwar years, the Soviet Union in many European countries brought to power people who were completely controlled by it. Communists came to power in the ranks of Asian countries. With them, the USSR concluded agreements on friendship and cooperation. This situation did not suit the former allies. The Americans created the doctrine of “containment” to prevent the expansion of the Union’s influence. The United States issued significant loans to the authorities of countries where a turning point in government was planned in favor of the communists. Over time, NATO was created. It was a strong enough structure to resist. The Cold War began. The US ideology did not rule out the use of force to resolve issues. With the collapse of the USSR, the enemy simply disappeared.
