How did the relationship between the authorities and the intelligentsia develop in the 1920s?

The Bolshevik Party sought to spread its ideology among all strata of the population, they needed to be supported by everyone. The intelligentsia could express disagreement with this ideology. But during the reign of Lenin, no radical measures were taken against the intelligentsia. The priests were persecuted. When Stalin’s positions were strengthened, repressions began to be applied to the intelligentsia, including the ministers of the church.
