How did the religion of the Jews differ from the religions you know? how has it influenced the history of many peoples?

Initially, Jewish beliefs were similar to those of neighboring Semitic peoples – polytheism centered around the Heavenly God and the Goddess of Fertility. However, in the first millennium BC, a movement of prophets is formed, which is the reaction of the people to the arbitrariness of the Israeli kings. The prophets saw the source of evil as a departure from the service of the God of the Jewish people – Yahweh, and the worship of “foreign” gods. Finally, monotheism was established during the reform of King Josiah (621 BC). In addition to strictly monotheism, this religion was distinguished by stricter moral norms. Judaists considered human sacrifice to be a crime and decried orgiastic rituals. This religion became the herald of Christianity and Islam, but still remained a faith designed only for fellow tribesmen.
