How did the second war between Carthage and Rome end?

The Second Punic War at the very beginning was successful for Carthage, but, unfortunately, Hannibal was unable to use the victory for strategic gain. So after the battle in 202 BC, Carthage was defeated, which became the reason for his defeat in the war. Thus, Carthage was forced to pay 10 thousand talents to Rome. In addition, he lost all his overseas possessions and lost all of his combat fleet (except for 10 ships). So Rome was able to become the most powerful state in Middle-earth.
