How did the unification of Italy come about?

The ideological prerequisites for the unification of Italy were:

* liberal

* educational

* republican

* nationalistic

* church

* socialist ideas.

This combined had several stages:

* War against Austria. Italy fought in alliance with France (1859). Convening of the Italian Parliament.

* Sicilian Revolution (1860-1861)

* Final union. In 1859 – another military campaign against Austria (this time Italy fought in an alliance with Prussia).
