How did their neighborhood with nomads affect the life of the Eastern Slavs?

The Slavs lived a sedentary way of life, their constant neighbors were nomads (Pechenegs, Polovtsians, Bulgars, etc.). The nomads, on the other hand, did not have a developed economy, and therefore, they often made constant raids on the southern Slavic lands. Over time, a number of defensive structures arose here on the border, which were “Serpent Shafts”.
