How did weed rye become a cultivated plant?

Turkey is currently considered the birthplace of rye. There she was considered a weed. So rye began to be cultivated as a more unpretentious plant, resistant to cold weather and lack of moisture. Rye was of great importance for the Slavic tribes. The Slavs began to cultivate it around the fourth century AD. More recently, rye was the main cereal crop in Russia.
