How did Xerxes’ campaign change the life of the Greek city-states?

After the news of Xerxes’ campaign on the Greek lands, the Greeks were forced to convene a congress – to which all representatives of the Greek cities of that time came. Peace was concluded between the previously warring Athens and Aegina, as well as the refusal of all other participants to conduct any other hostilities. The Greeks built a pontoon bridge between Europe and Asia, but they did not achieve much results. Xerxes’ campaign rallied the Greek city-states, gave them hope and understanding that only together they can resist the enemy.
