How do animals breathe without special respiratory organs?

Animals that do not have special respiratory organs breathe with the entire surface of the body. On the sides of the insect’s abdomen, on each segment, holes are visible – spiracles, through which air enters the insect’s body. From them (spiracles) leave the trachea (chitinous tubes) that distribute air to all organs. For example, unicellular animals (such as amoeba, ciliate slipper) and simply arranged multicellular (many worms).
