How do the cells of the division zone differ from the cells of other zones?

The cells of the division zone are cells of the educational tissue, that is, the meristem. In this tissue, there are two types of cells: the cells of the meristem proper and cells that can transform into cells of other types of tissues. That is, other types of tissues are formed from the second group of meristem cells. Cells of other zones in the structure of the plant root do not possess this property.
In addition to the above, the cells of the division zone, in contrast to the cells of other zones, are small and tightly adjacent to each other.
