The main product of photosynthesis is organic matter (starch and sugars). The photons of light are absorbed by chlorophyll and contribute to the transition of electrons to a higher energy level. As a result, water decomposes into hydrogen, which is necessary for the conversion of carbon dioxide into glucose and free oxygen.
