How does a medical service differ from another service?

The fact that it has no alternative, i.e. to refuse it in an urgent case will not work. You don’t have to have a haircut in a hairdresser, save money and get a haircut yourself, but if you have a toothache, you don’t want to, but you still need to go to the dentist. Or if there is appendicitis, then operate, and nothing else.

A medical service is directly related to health and sometimes to a person’s life; the demand for this service is almost not elastic, i.e. despite the annual growth in prices for medicine, the demand for it does not fall significantly.
