How does leaf structure depend on plant habitat?

The structure and shape of the leaf directly depends on the habitat of a particular species. In hot areas, plants that have small leaves live. In the tropics, where the water is sufficient but rather hot, the plants have large leaves. For example – monstera. It has large leaves and water literally flows from them. In forests, many plants have large leaves in order to photosynthesize more intensively.
