How does the fate of a person depend on the fate of society?

The fate of a person can directly depend on the society in which he lives. So, for example, in the USSR it was impossible to engage in entrepreneurship, which means that a person could not realize himself in business. You couldn’t make your own furniture and sell it, you had to go to a factory and work for a salary, and there are a lot of such examples. Also, in a democratic country, everyone thinks and does whatever he wants, but if you look at totalitarianism, then because of some unwanted thoughts, the fate of a person can be broken.
