How does the length of North America from north to south affect its nature?

North America, due to its great length from north to south, is located in all climatic zones except the equatorial one. Hence, there is a wide variety of natural zones: from arctic deserts in the north to variable humid (subequatorial) forests in the extreme south. In the west of the continent, the Cordillera mountain system is located along the entire coast, where natural zones change with height, i.e. areas of altitudinal zonality are traced.
