How does the relief of Eurasia differ from the relief of other continents?

The relief of the continent Eurasia has many differences compared to the reliefs of other continents. This is due to the fact that the rest of the continents consist mainly of one lithospheric plate, while today’s Eurasia includes many large and small tectonic plates that have joined each other in different geological eras.

The main uniqueness of the relief of Eurasia
The main difference between the Eurasian relief is the presence of a huge number of mountain systems that were formed as a result of the aforementioned collisions of lithospheric plates. On other continents, one can see one dominant mountain range or hill, which is the main watershed and affects the entire climate of a given continent, while in Eurasia, different mountain systems play a role in each separate area. Among the mountain ranges formed at the sites of collisions of lithospheric plates, the following can be distinguished:

Himalayas and Karakorum (at the junction of the Eurasian plate with the Hindustan plate).
Armenian Highlands (at the junction of the Eurasian plate with the Arabian).
Verkhoyansk ridge (at the junction of the Eurasian and North American plates).
Alps (at the junction of the Apennine Peninsula).
Between these and many other mountain systems lie the largest plains on our planet. This series of mountains and plains makes Eurasia unique among other continents.

Large amplitude of heights
The huge differences in altitude relative to sea level are also considered a unique feature of the continent. Here are located both the highest point of the planet, Mount Everest with a height of 8848 meters, and the lowest part of the planet, which is the coastal part of the Dead Sea, with an altitude of -430 meters relative to the sea. That is, the amplitude in Eurasia exceeds 9000 meters, while on other continents this value hardly reaches a family of thousands of meters.

In height, the Eurasian mountains surpass all others on the planet, and only they reach the mark of 7 or 8 thousand meters, since on other continents the highest points do not even reach 7000 meters.
