How does the roughness of the sea affect the steep coastline?

The waves of the surf have both creative and destructive power. The destructive power of the wolf manifests itself especially noticeably on steep banks, composed of soft rocks – marls, limestones, sandstones. The waves, hitting the coastal rocks, washes away easily crumbling particles from them, thereby weakening the entire layer of the earth and causing it to collapse piece by piece. The softer the shore, the faster the waves wash away. But they are capable of crumbling harder soils, even rocky areas cannot withstand the force of sea waves and are polished over time, and if it happens in the northern regions, then the water freezing in the cracks of the coastal cliffs is capable of expanding to chip off significant pieces.
