For parallel connection of conductors, the total resistance R is determined by the formula: R = R1 * R2 / (R1 + R2), where R1 and R2 are the resistances of the parallel-connected conductors.
Let’s say that R1 = R2 = 1 ohm. Then R = 1 Ohm * 1 Ohm / (1 Ohm + 1 Ohm) = 0.5 Ohm.
Let’s say that R1 = R2 = 2 ohms. Then R = 2 ohms * 2 ohms / (2 ohms + 2 ohms) = 1 ohms.
Let’s say that R1 = R2 = 3 ohms. Then R = 3 ohms * 3 ohms / (3 ohms + 3 ohms) = 1.5 ohms.
Let’s say that R1 = R2 = 4 ohms. Then R = 4 ohms * 4 ohms / (4 ohms + 4 ohms) = 2 ohms.
We see that with increasing resistances, the total resistance R also increases.
