How is mainland Australia located in relation to other continents?

Australia has a rather isolated location relative to other continents. It is located further north in relation to Antarctica. The Eurasian coasts are in the northwest, with many islands large and small in between. Africa is located in the west. To the east of the Australian coast, on the other side of the Pacific Ocean, lies South America. And North America is located even further, in a northeast direction. This isolation has created a unique nature on this continent.
