How is medieval trade different from modern trade?

Trade in the Middle Ages was not intercontinental, only in 1492 did the Spaniards reach the Caribbean, and the civilizations of the Aztecs and Incas probably lived in isolation from each other, they did not trade.

Also, until the end of the 15th century, Europeans rarely visited India and almost never visited China and Southeast Asia, and probably had vague ideas about Japan, for example, from Marco Polo.

It was also carried out by river and sea transport, horse-drawn (on camels and horses) and sometimes the goods were carried by porters, for example, among the Aztecs, who did not know horses.

Modern trade unites all continents and the entire planet as a whole, and also uses motor transport, railways, and aviation for trade.
