How is parental concern for offspring expressed?

There is nothing surprising in the fact that parents (and of any biological species) take care of their offspring, because the notorious maternal instinct is at the genetic level and manifests itself almost always, with rare exceptions.

The following phenomena can be cited as examples:

Parents teach their offspring the basic skills that will be useful to them in life – lions are taught to hunt, herbivores – to distinguish edible fruits from poisonous ones.
Ancestors teach offspring caution, because in the wild it is very important to know what should not be done at all.
