How is plant growth different from animal growth?

Plants and animals differ from each other in many ways, including the method and nature of growth. Most higher plants grow throughout their life. This process occurs due to the constant division of the cells of the educational tissue (meristems). The apical growth cells provide the growth of roots and shoots in length, while the lateral ones provide a thickening of the stem. Animals grow due to the division of cells of internal organs and their increase in size due to an increase in the cytoplasm, and in most representatives of this kingdom this process goes up to a certain age.
