How is smooth muscle tissue different from striated muscle?

Muscle tissues perform the function of movement, therefore muscle cells – myocytes – are oblong and they have contractile fibers – myofibrils. But, smooth muscle tissue forms the muscles of internal organs – the walls of blood vessels, the digestive tract (except for the heart), its contractions should not be of great strength, but constant. Therefore, unlike striated muscle tissue, smooth muscle cells are small in size, spindle-shaped, and contain only one nucleus.
