How is the ability to regenerate related to the level of complexity of the organism?

Organisms of different levels of structural complexity are capable of different regeneration. Man is capable of regeneration. When we burn or damage the skin, it regenerates over time. But we cannot regrow the lost parts of the body, but only some of the tissues. But many of the simplest organisms have very good regeneration.
