How is the base classified?

A base is a substance that contains a metal and a hydroxide, for example KOH – potassium hydroxide.

Classification:

1 Solubility in water:

Soluble / alkalis (NaOH; Ba (OH) 2)
Insoluble (Fe (OH) 3; Cu (OH) 2)

2. Degree of electrolytic dissociation:

Strong (alkalis)
Weak (insoluble)

3. Acidity (number of hydroxyl groups):

Monoacid (KOH)
Two-acid (Cu (OH) 2)
Tricacid (Fe (OH) 3)

Basically, soluble bases include metals of groups IA and IIA, and insoluble metals of IIIA and B groups.
