How is the history of the Eastern Slavs connected with the great migration of peoples?

We know from history that the migration of peoples began back in the distant 3rd century BC. The active process of resettlement falls on the 3-4th century AD. At the same time, tribes of the ancient Slavs Wends and Antes appeared on the territory of the eastern part of Europe. In the period from the 6th to the 8th century, the Slavs settled in Europe. In the course of this settlement, the tribes of the ancient Slavs were divided into western, southern and eastern. It was the Eastern Slavic tribes that became the core of a large medieval state – Kievan Rus.
