How is the relationship between the stem and other plant organs manifested?

The axial part of the shoot, with internodes and nodes, is called a stem. The stem consists of cork, bark, bast, cambium, wood and pith. One of the components of the bast are sieve tubes. Through them, an exchange of substances occurs between leaves and roots – a descending current. Also, wood is placed in the bast – another conductive tissue through which an ascending current passes, through which water and substances dissolved in it are transported from the root to the foliage. This means that the stem is responsible for the relationship between other organs of the plant.
