How is the scale division of a measuring device determined?

One division is the area between two marks.
Each label (both with and without designation) corresponds to a certain value of the quantity that is being measured.
If we take the values of the measured quantity for two adjacent marks and find their difference, then it will be equal to the division price.
The division price of the measuring device is determined as follows:
– find two marks, opposite which the values of the measured quantity are indicated;
– subtract the smaller from the larger value and record the difference in values;
– count how many divisions are between the selected labels with signatures;
– divide the found difference by the number of divisions. This will be the division price.
