How long after pollination does pine seeds ripen?

In gymnosperms, after the transfer of pollen from male cones to female cones, that is, pollination, fertilization occurs after a year. The latter is the fusion of male and female germ cells. This process takes place in female cones. After six months, a seed develops from the zygote, that is, the fertilized egg. Thus, from the moment of pollination to the maturation of seeds in gymnosperms, a year and six months should pass.
