The spinal cord (medulla spinalis) is located in the cavities of the spinal column. The border where the SM begins is usually drawn at the intersection of the pyramidal paths, and it ends with an end thread and its length varies depending on the gender. In men, it averages 43-45 cm, and in women 41-42 cm (excluding the cauda equina – a bundle of spinal nerves, but taking into account the terminal thread, the length of which is 15 cm on average).
