How many chicks does an emperor penguin have?

Emperor penguins hatch eggs in a special way. In their pair, the male is engaged in this. At the beginning of summer, the female lays one egg, weighing about half a kilogram, and goes into the ocean to fatten.

The future dad, firmly enduring the chilling cold, keeps the egg under a special fold, keeping it warm at 30 degrees. This test continues for 9 long weeks: being motionless and hungry.

After 100 days, a single penguin chick is born, weighing 300 grams. The baby will be under the care of the parents for 5 weeks.
