How many different nucleotides does a nucleic acid contain?

All nucleic acids are made up of nucleotides. But each organism has different nucleic acids. This is achieved by combining only five different nucleotides, and both DNA and RNA contain only 4 different nucleotides. DNA contains nucleotides adenine, thymine, guanine, cytosine. They are arranged in a chain in a different order, and if you swap at least one nucleotide, then the entire nucleic acid will change. RNA contains uracil instead of thymine.
